Computer Repair
My first computer was 8Mhz, 5.25 flopies, no hard drive,
Dos was the operating system (Dos Prompt ( A: )).
My second computer was a 486, that I had to put new parts in and upgrade.
Next thing I know I was upgrading and fixing my friend's computer's. That was
back in the mid 90's ? Anyhow I have been working on computers ever since
whenever someone I know needed thier computer fixed or wanted to upgrade.
Then one day a buddy of mine say's he has a buddy that is
looking for a new laptop because he droped his and it wont work no more. I told
him to tell the guy to bring it by and I would look at it. My buddie brought
the laptop to me and told me the guy had takin it to 3 computer repair shop's
and was told it couldn't be fixed. I checked it out and couldn't get the hard
drive to work, I tested it with another hard drive and it worked fine. I called
the guy and told him that it just needed a hard drive ($30). So anyhow he said
that I should open a computer repair shop. So Art's Computer Shop was
born (Aug. 2007). This was really disturbing to me that 3 computer repair
shops did not know how to fix it. It was so simple.
I work on computer / laptop in my garage. There is
a $25 bench fee (payable when you drop off your computer) for me to look
at your computer. If I can not fix your computer / laptop their will be no
charge. I will call you to let you know what it will cost for parts and you
will have to come back in and sign a release to give me authorization to do
the work. Labor rate is $20 per hour, the first hour will be the bench
fee. Most of the time the bill is just the bench fee plus parts.
I do this in my spare time so drop off and pick up are by

I DO NOT !!! do any sodering on boards. Everthing is
so tiny these days, one would need a microscope.
